Data & Tracking
Server-side tracking and data for e-commerce, so your numbers finally add up.
Before we switch anything on, we want to know what's happening right now. These three services together form the measurement foundation under your online store: the measurement itself, the analysis beneath it and the dashboard where you see it all come together. Without that foundation, you're steering ad budget on numbers nobody can defend.
The problem
Ask three systems how many orders you had last month and you'll get three different answers. That's not a minor detail, because there's a budget riding on it.
- Google Ads, GA4 and your online store's backend all report different numbers, and nobody can explain which one is right.
- Browsers and ad blockers cripple client-side measurement, so a chunk of your orders never makes it into your reporting.
- You're steering on revenue because margin is nowhere in your data, which makes expensive orders look good.
- The monthly report costs hours of manual spreadsheet work, and it's already out of date by the time it's finished.
The opportunity
Once your measurement is right, something changes in how you steer. Smart Bidding gets clean conversions and learns faster who actually buys. You see what's left after purchasing and shipping costs, per product group. And the question of whether a good month came from your ads or from your organic work suddenly has a straightforward answer. We build those three layers in order: first the measurement, then the analysis, then the screen you track it on.
The building blocks
What falls under Data & Tracking.
In this order, because every step leans on the one before it. You can take them separately, but analysing data that's full of gaps is an expensive way to fool yourself.

In the Growth System
Stages 01 and 02: measure and discover.
This is where the Growth System begins. The measurement from this stage determines how sharply your campaigns can bid in stage 03, and whether you can see what your organic work delivers in stage 04. Skip this, and you steer both channels on half the information, and you usually only notice once the numbers have already been disappointing for a while.

What clients say
How it plays out in practice.
“Digital Bean made sure our data is collected properly, and even with the new cookie legislation, our tracking stays as accurate as possible.”
“Digital Bean built a handy tracking dashboard, so I can see at a glance how everything is performing.”
We set up the measurement foundation for clients including E-styleaudio and Extrawarmte.
Frequently asked questions
What clients usually ask.
Missing a question? Email or call us, the lines are short here.
Why do you start here instead of just with the campaigns?
Because campaigns learn from your conversion data. If that data is wrong, Google will happily optimise towards the wrong goal, and you only see it in your bank balance. For a new client, this is nearly always the first step, and usually the cheapest win too.
I already have GA4 running. Isn't that enough?
GA4 is the reporting layer, not the foundation. The question is whether everything that happens actually arrives in GA4, whether your conversions match your backend, and whether your margin shows up anywhere. In existing setups, something is almost always off in practice, and we work that out during the growth session.
Can I just get a dashboard?
You can, and sometimes that's enough. But a dashboard only shows what comes in. If there's a gap in your measurement, we'd be building a nice screen around a wrong number. We'll tell you if that's the case for you.
So do I still need a cookie banner?
Yes. The consent requirement under the GDPR and the Dutch Telecommunications Act applies in full, even server-side. The Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) actively checks for this. We make sure consent is passed correctly through the whole chain, with Consent Mode v2.
Who owns the data and the setup?
You do. The tagging server runs on your subdomain, the dashboard sits on your account, and you always keep access to it, even if we ever part ways.
We'll work out how much conversion data you're currently missing.
Put your Google Ads conversions next to your backend revenue and within half an hour you'll see how big the gap is and what it costs to close it.
